2B. i think the two most important enlightenment ideas were women's equality because it gave women power like men and also they weren't treated differently just because they're women. also the U.S Declaration of independence because it gave important laws to the United States.

 social contract- started by Hobbes, it was an agreement by which people created government.
 John Locke- philosopher who thought that people could learn from experience and improve themselves.
 natural rights- Locke's idea that people are born free and equal by three natural rights- life, liberty, and property.
 philosophe- social critics in France, the french word for philosophers.
 Voltaire- philosopher who fought for tolerance, reason, freedom of religious belief, and freedom of speech.
 Montesquieu- french writer who had the idea of the separation of powers.
separation of powers- the division of power among different branches.
 Jean Jacques Rousseau- philosopher who was passionately committed to individual freedom.
 Mary Wollstonecraft-  thought that women should have the same rights as men.

everywhere he is in chains.”Jean Jacques Rousseau said this quote meaning that men were born free but they still feel captured because they don't have freedom.
“Let women share the rights and
she will emulate the virtues of men" Mary Wollstonecraft wrote this quote meaning that women should have the same rights as men and she will do the sam as men.
